I am a researcher at Human Rights Studies at the History Department of Lund University. In my current project "Krigets eko i svenska krigsbarns familjehistorierna", funded by the Crafoord Foundation, I document the experiences of Swedish "children born of war" - that is, children born to Swedish mothers and German fathers who had been soldiers in Nazi Germany. In the last years, I have studied different generations and kinds of experiences faced by children born of war across Scandinavia with a particular focus on the politics of family secrecy and children's rights. The Swedish family histories from the World War II generation remain though underexplored, and I hope to change that with the ongoing pilot study.
